- Berlin, December 10th, 2008 - PICTORION das werk Berlin has upgraded five workstations with the new software release Mistika V4. For more than three years now, PICTORION das werk in Berlin has been working with the spanish software solution for their film workflow. All workstations are now equipped with the new software release Mistika V4 introduced at IBC 2008. New features in V4 include GPU utilisation for realtime performance of visual effects and color correction, full 16 bit processing and support for new image formats, like HDR (High Dynamic Range) images.

- Digital Rapids Powers Exclusive Live Coverage of World Cup Soccer Qualifier in UK
- Technology from Digital Rapids played a key role in a groundbreaking event in soccer broadcasting. The World Cup Qualifier between England and Ukraine in October became the United Kingdom's first-ever competitive international match available for live viewing exclusively on the Internet, with no television coverage. Online streaming of the event was provided by digital sport and entertainment specialist Perform, utilizing Digital Rapids' StreamZ encoding systems and the Digital Rapids Broadcast Manager software.

- Succesful IBC with many new Products
- The organizers of IBC reported a strong year, with attendance of 48.164 visitors, up from 45.547 last year. RED Digital Cinema did not have a booth this year, but Ted Schilowitz was there, showing a new prototype of EPIC. ARRI reported that 200 Alexas had already been sold (and shipped) and Roland Emmerich shot his first feature film 'Anonymous' entirely on Alexa. On the software side, DaVinci Resolve for Mac is finally reported to be shipping.

- DaVinci Resolve 8 and free Resolve Lite shown at NAB
- Blackmagic Design announced today many exciting new products for post and live production. DaVinci Resolve 8 There will be a massive update to DaVinci Resolve this year, and it's packed with incredible features that we think colorists will love!
